The instrument is beautiful, plays great. Bareknuckles are the best pickups in my collection. Some minor issues.
- "Baritone" but it ships in drop D. I wish it came a whole step or two lower without an extra fee. My setup choice was overlooked by accident, customer service let me know and proactively refunded the fee.
- First time with locking tuners and I was trying to tune lower. Two strings slipped out, too short to be rethreaded under tension. Probably my error if the locks were loose, but I wish they'd been wrapped at least once too.
- Finishes on the neck and body are open satin and gloss respectively, both look amazing. Mine has a smudgy transition between the two as if some gloss got under the masking tape. Invisible to the audience.
- Strap locks are required, but provided. Upper peg is at an angle that lets unlocked straps pop free. I think the angle induces more neck dive. Maybe placing the peg on the back would lessen it, hard to say.

Ordered a left handed neck to replace on my old Warmoth. I love it. Please tell everybody at Halo who worked on it they did an amazing job. It's now the guitar I've always wanted. If you ever get some Halo hats made, let me know
I didn't realize the guitar would be such high quality and handled with such great care. People are sleeping on Halo Guitars, I highly recommend them. Thank you Jeff and friends!
The instrument is beautiful and plays great. I'm glad I bought it. It's not without flaws.
- It's a baritone guitar, but it ships in drop D tuning. I don't know if that's typical, but I wish it'd arrive a whole step or two lower out of the box. I paid for a custom tuning setup that was overlooked in their system, but customer service proactively refunded the setup fee.
- Detuning, the highest 2 strings both slipped out of their tuning pegs. Not wrapped even once, so they can't be rethreaded, must be replaced. Hate to waste good strings.
- The finishes between the neck back and body back are open satin and gloss respectively, which is fine, except mine had an unsightly transition between the two.
- If you don't have strap locks, you'll need them. The upper strap peg is at an angle that makes unlocked straps pop free easily and could contribute to neck dive, as the strap tries to settle the guitar at too low of an angle. Thankfully it's not very heavy.

Found Halo through Google. I'd recommend. Neck was so much better than expected. The build quality, the fit and finish, the overall look, everything is phenomenal. Amazing job, love the work you guys do.
Absolutely love this guitar, The team made every little adjustment and upgrade I wanted and it came out perfect!
So far, I like it a lot, both the guitar and the costumer service were great.
It looks awesome, plays great and sounds thick! Very impressed with the setup as well. My guitar tech didn’t have to do anything basically when setting it up.
There were a few minor that wasn’t perfect... however, this isn’t anything that bothers me. It will most likely get a few dents after a couple of shows anyway :)
It sounds and plays beautifully! Really happy with it. Feels sturdy!

5 out of 5, would recommend
I wanted to get essentially a fretless version of the Squire Bass VI Vibe guitar, and virtually no company I can seem to find on any corner of this earth seems to mass produce any form of fretless Bass VI guitar, so I decided to find a custom guitar company to help me out here. Was quite discouraged to find that almost none of them offered an option to make a fretless guitar, or it would be something needed in a sort of "special instructions" section, and if I was lucky enough to find a company that 1. Didn't hide their price and 2. Had the option to make this kind of guitar for less than 13,000 dollars, because while I might have taken the plunge on getting a $4,500 guitar, that's like, my hard line limit for how much I'm willing to spend, and it's not like it had to be that much money but my goal was to have a good sounding direct guitar signal, so I kinda went hard on the pickups and the pickup switches and the killswitch lol, and the functionality of the instrument really mattered to me which is where things like the zero fret came in, and ultimately I settled at that and a cohesive look, I could have customized it super extreme crazy cool but I'm not the kind of person to spend over 500-700 dollars on any guitar, I don't have some enormous collection of shiny guitars I have for their 'aesthetic' I just want to have a diverse set of sound sources available for the kind of music I make and if a customized guitar was my only way to it, then I was determined to find it and Halo absolutely worked wonders. Fretless was an option, the price was out in the open and auto calculated, and the options available and the price points for them, yes expensive, but clearly and 'retraceably' (for lack of a better word) realistic, my immediate turnoff for most of these companies were these, yes, cool, guitars, but vaguely and expensively priced guitars, like, "check out this double necked guitar for $13,000 or you can get the single neck for $9,000" with very little detail as to why it costs that much, like, I'll just get a car with those numbers holy crap lol. But I digress, Halo made it possible to have both ends of the spectrum with fretted and fretless Baritone Bass VI, fretted and fretless bass, I do have an acoustic Bass VI but not a fretless acoustic Bass VI but I don't think I'm gonna be in a position to change that any time soon but that's alright because this guitar already is almost acoustic with the semi hollow body so I'm kinda covered I think lol.
In shorter words, I like it a lot and think it will fill some gaps that a fretted guitar simply can't do the same. The way the timbre of the strings just shift as you slide, it creates it's own unique resonance that I just love the sound of, I'll admit, without any reference or bassline or something to play to, playing chords or anything like that in tune is HARD AS HELL with fretless instruments but when you record the take that's just right, it's much more than right lol. I'm not much of a performance person, I won't be taking anything to a stage or anything like that, I don't do that, I'm a producer, and I see this thing as a really, really neat tool that stands out from others, and I couldn't have gotten it from any other company than Halo.
I don't know how his wages work but if whoever Jeff Lee and Brandon Benedict's bosses are, should give them a raise or at least some kudos for their work cause they have been great support in the whole process, if you guys are reading, thank you!!

Guitar (kit) arrived in good condition and arrived fairly quickly. There were delays in the guitar being shipped initially, but that was only because the seller was on vacation at the time...Good for him! A few blemishes in the wood (was sold as such) but those will be sanded out before painting and finishing.
Ordered a T-style bass and I absolutely love it! Response time on emails can be a little slow at times
AMAZING customer service and communication. Halo is altering this guitar for me and worked out a great deal to make this guitar exactly what I want... I'll being buying another. Again, probably the best customer service I've ever received!
The sickest 8 I’ve played. Fantastic folks, fantastic setup, fantastic playing. I’d give it 10 stars if I could. Nice job to everyone at Halo.
Great guitar at a great price! Got it setup for drop F# and love how it plays / sounds.
Beautiful guitar with a wonderful setup.
Ordered several custom bass necks... the builds are fine. Love them!
Custom neck with roasted maple fretboard, 48mm nut width, a 20" fretboard radius, and a custom color that matched the guitar. I *love* it!
It took a really long time to get here... plays great, worth the wait.
Custom shape and finish guitar body. I love it! I am more of a player. I do minor repairs and maintenance, but have never built a full guitar. This guitar is for myself. I have always wanted a custom electric guitar that was unique to me. The number 1 reason I went with Halo was the fact that I could design my own body shape which is what truly makes the guitar unique and custom to me. NO ONE else offered that. I looked at Warmoth and Keisel mainly, but some local luthier's too, but they wanted about 3x the cost for a full build. Additionally the prices were great, the neck pockets will fit a standard Fender neck (which is what I play) and the color options are virtually limitless. No one else does what Halo does. Jeff's reputation as a builder helps as well. He also helped tweak my body design as the holes for the electronics were a bit crammed. I am so excited about this!
Great guitar and great company. Excellent customer service A+++
