I own two halo merus 7 string guitars now and am not looking back on anyone else when it comes to extended range guitars. I’ve been playing for 30 years and professionally for 16. You name it and I have played it for the most part. I was going back to esp for a group of new guitars for a new project i play for called Bury the Witness. Don’t know why I did but I swerved at the last second and bought two halos on a whim. Boy I’m glad I did. The craftsmanship is the best it can get and the tone on all of them is unreal. Pound for pound halo smashes ever other company for build quality to money ratio hands down. If you’re on the fence just jump in and buy it, you’re not gonna get let down believe me. Peace

My Merus 7 is the nicest guitar I own currently. The quality is outstanding and the instrument plays wonderfully. I can find nothing wrong with this instrument functionally or aesthetically. It was a great experience buying from Halo. The folks over there keep you informed about everything during the entire process. I can’t wait to do business with them again!

I'm very impressed with the guitar. The finish is amazing and the quilted maple is beautiful! I live in Canada where we are still getting snow and it held up through shipping with perfect intonation and tuning.

This is quite literally the best guitar I have ever played in my entire life. It looks great, feels great, and sounds amazing! That aside though, what makes this guitar shine is the EverTune bridge. It simply stays in tune. Before I had a guitar with EverTune, during recording I would have to tune my guitar before pretty much every take to make sure it's in tune and strum lightly on rhythm parts to make sure the chords don't go sharp or I knock it out of tune quicker. EverTune fixes both of these problems and has honestly spoiled me. I generally check the tuning once before recording and it stays in tune for the entire session. Also you can set it up so no matter how hard you strum the guitar the chords will never go sharp when you strike the strings. As a result everything is always in tune, the rhythm guitar parts have more energy, and my creativity is at an all time high because I spend less time getting distracted with tuning and more time recording. I haven't brought this guitar on the road yet, but I'm confident the EverTune bridge will make things a breeze. I only have good things to say about this guitar.

Disadvantages: There really isn't any disadvantages. The only thing I can think of is changing tunings with an EverTune bridge requires a key instead of simply turning the tuning pegs, but that's a small price to pay for all of the advantages that come with having an EverTune bridge.
